Another common failure item on the F chassis N55 is the serpentine belt tensioner.

 

It’s known to cause annoying rattling noises as it reaches the end of its life. As a result, it requires replacement.

However, it is always recommended by mechanics that the entire assembly be changed, to negate the possibility of uneven wear and tear on the remainder of the assembly. 

This kit consists of the multi v-belt / serpentine belt tensioner, the multi v-belt and the associated roller. Replacing them all at once reduces the likelihood of there being a repeat issue in the same system.

  • multi v belt tensioner (1128 8604 226)
  • multi v belt roller (1128 8673 720)
