BMW N54 N55 S55 Crank Seal Guard

Our aluminium crank seal guards are probably the most necessary yet cost-effective upgrade on your N54 N55 S55 BMW.

Why the guard?

The accessory belt on is known to begin to walk off the pulley as it gets contaminated by any possible debris (oil, dirt) or as it wears off. The belt begins to fray, causing fragments of the belt to force its way through the crankshaft seal and enter the engine. 

This can cause either the timing chain to jump timing, or cause blockages in the oil pickup - as a result causing catastrophic engine failure. Unfortunately, either of these situations may require an engine rebuild or replacement (depending on the extent of the damage).
